It was in staff canteen of Changi international airport where you can buy an affordable foods. But if you go to the city, it will be hard to find something like that (especially for moslem). Not only affordable, but Halal or no pork contained are the perfect criteria for budgeted Indonesian traveler

These food stalls give you an answer to buy an affordable food and also halal, such as :

1. Warung Makan India (India’s Food stall)
Bingung nyebut tempat jualan makanan, saya sebut warung makan aja ya, hehe. Warung makan di singapore kebanyakan berupa ruko. Jadi ya relatif ga terlalu gede tempatnya.

Mostly food stalls in Singapore are in a small house.

Seberapa murah? Dengan hanya S$4 Singapore, tersaji sak umplekan nasi seperti halnya nasi padang namun porsinya luar biasa gede! Lauknya? Bila tanpa terong goreng hanya S$3Β (S$ = Singapore dollar πŸ˜† ) saja.

How cheap it was? I bought a huge portion of rice, 2 pieces of beef/chicken, fried eggplant and also curry sauce, only for S$4. Too expensive? Nope, from that portion it could fulfill 3-4 stomaches. If you don’t buy a fried eggplant, you just have to pay S$ 3.

Because the food stall was too small, then i decided to bring that Indian food to my hotel’s room. Tada, i ate with my mom & sister on a floor.

2. Warung Makan Indonesia (Indonesia’s Food stall)
Meskipun berbau Indonesia tapi rata-rata karyawannya berasal dari Singapore. Sorry, but you have to speak english even that in Indonesian food store πŸ™„

Even this food stalls from Indonesia, but don’t worry, you can speak english in here πŸ˜€

ion plaza singapore orchard aluvimoto Saya menemukan warung makan padang di basement lvl 3 (kalo ga salah) di Ion plaza kawasan Orchard. Bersebelahan persis dengan dunkin donuts. Harganya? Standar lah $5 aja untuk 1 porsi nasi lemak, tapi bikin wareg alias kenyang meskipun hanya mampu mengenyangkan 2 orang saja per porsinya.

I found Padang’s food stall in 3rd basement of Ion Plaza, near dunkin donuts. It located in Orchard. And the price was S$ 5 for one portion of “nasi lemak”. At least it could fulfill 2 stomaches.

3. KFC
Lhah? Junkfood? Hooh.

Junkfood? Yap, it was cheap because there were a promo packages. I bought 1 fish ole box that contained a kebab, a soft and sweet potato, fish chips, an Oreo, and also a med glass of pepsi only for S$ 7.5 πŸ™„

kfc paket chinatown makan murah aluvimoto isi kfc paket chinatown makan murah aluvimotoSaya makan di KFC saat mengunjungi chinatown yang begitu turun dari MRT chinatown langsung kebauan wangi daging babi giling . Kok tau?

I ate in KFC because that was in Chinatown. There was no food stall that sell halal food  . First time i arrived in Chinatown MRT Station, i smelt a nice smell of bacon. So i traced the source of the smell and guess what? a Grilled pork was being grilled πŸ˜†

Kudu waspada aja, jangan asal beli.

So be aware, don’t spend your money just because a good smell. Check first. If you can’t find a halal sign, just ask to the seller πŸ˜†

That’s all tips of how to get an affordable and also halal food in Singapore πŸ˜†
